As we celebrate World Environment Day today, reflecting on the theme of 2024, ‘Land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience,’ INDICOLD reaffirms its commitment to sustainable practices in the cold storage industry.

This brought to mind, a recently held exceptional event focused on climatechange, where insightful discussions and innovative solutions were shared and celebrated – “National Conference on efficient food processing for environmental and climate changing trends ” organised by Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI) and National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management – Kundli (NIFTEM-K).

The 2 day event highlighted climate change’s impact on food processing, focusing on developing resilient crops, energy-efficient cold chains, and sustainable machinery. Emphasising advanced technology for informed decisions, it aimed to fortify sector resilience. Eminent veterans, experts, and academicians attended, amplifying the significance of these discussions.

Engaging at this prestigious platform Mrs. Niharika Jalan Jan, Founder & Chief growth officer – INDICOLD, shared unveiling groundbreaking initiatives in energy-efficient storage and cold chain systems for perishable commodities driven by automation at Indicold. Her insights shed light on the pivotal role of these innovations in bolstering sustainability efforts and curbing food wastage.

In the cold storage industry, hygiene often faces significant challenges, but sustainability remains a cornerstone of INDICOLD’s integrated approach. Solar panels and water recycling are standard across our locations, reflecting our commitment to eco-friendly practices.

We prioritize recycling, replacing single-use plastics with reusable materials, and repurpose water for gardening, minimizing waste. Our structural designs optimize energy use, ensuring efficient ventilation and operations. Daily, we embrace sustainable practices like going paperless, using electric forklifts, and LED lighting, while maximizing space and streamlining shipments. These efforts not only enhance efficiency but also underscore our unwavering dedication to a sustainable future.

At INDICOLD, We Care.
At IndiCold, care is more than a value; it’s our foundation, our approach, and our commitment. It’s about ensuring the safety, quality, and sustainability of the produce and products we handle, while also contributing to a world that’s more caring, connected, and compassionate for all stakeholders.
